About me

Thanks for stopping by to check out my page 🙂

I’m secondary school Science (and Maths) teacher who absolutely loves going to work every morning. Currently in London with the hubby, not so newly married now (3 years, going strong). I’ll be using this space to explore my creative side and to try out new things that interest me. Please feel free to leave your thoughts or just to say hi! Would love to hear from all you lovely people out there! 🙂

  1. Welcome to our mad little world 🙂

Anyway, someone told me that you have just become one of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…

    1. Haha..You do have your way with words. Thanks for the welcome message. It did bring a smile on my face. As you know, I am new here and appreciate your support. I just started digging into your posts today and I’m pretty sure you’ll be hearing more often from me. Have a great day !

    1. Thanks a lot.. Do stop by as and when and let me know what you think about the write-ups. I would really appreciate that. 🙂

I’m sure to stop by to see your write ups. Great choice of topics and very well written..

    1. Dennis, you are a noble person with a big heart. I hope I keep you interested and coming back to my page.
I’ll be needing all the help I can as I’m still figuring my way out in here.
Thanks a lot for the helping hand.
      Have a great day.

  2. Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging!

It sounds like you have been through quite an adventure! Look forard to reading more about your journey in the time ahead!

  3. Wow! Quite a few things have happened since the last time we spoke. I’m glad that you’re exploring your interests. I’m interested in both teaching, and writing. I’m a relatively new to the world of blogging despite having blogs up for quite a long time. It’ll be good fun to do critiques and encourage each other!

  4. I love your poetry and found it mesmerising. I’m a Science teacher and I also love writing. I blog, write poetry and create YouTube videos of wildlife, sunsets and other beautiful things. You are an inspiration to me and your work reminds me of Einstein’s quote: ‘The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science.’

    1. Dear Sophie, I feel humbled after reading your comment. I got back into teaching recently and that has kept me so busy that it’s been a while since I wrote anything. You’ve just the inspired me to start writing again 🙂 it’s great to hear from a fellow science teacher who also loves to write in her spare time. Would love to read what you’ve written as well if you wish to share. And it goes without saying that I love the Einstein quote that you ended with 🙂
